Can we say BARGAIN?!

This is the deal of the century right here ya'll. Last Monday I purchased a dining room table and chairs, but here is the story that goes with it... From the beginning.

Jacky's Aunt Lanette has a kitchen table and chairs that I just thought were beautiful. I told Jacky's mom on Sunday (day before the purchase) that when I bought a table and chairs that is exactly what I wanted. The dining set sells at Ashley furniture for $899!!!!! Aunt Lanette bought it for $599 at a liquidation place, but it only came with 4 chairs. So Monday Mom calls and tells me that someone is selling that exact dining set in Cookeville for $150-- THAT'S RIGHT $150! So I bought it. The only thing wrong with it was that it was filthy from their three precious little girls.

Here is the nastiness..

Needless to say, I had some major cleaning to do. BUT I was not going to attempt to save the upholstery. They were doomed. Saturday I spent my evening wiping down the chairs with some bleach water, dish soap, and hot water. Jacky was drying out 20 cans of old paint for the trash men to take them.

Since the chairs and table were clean, I needed to find new upholstery to cover the chair cushions. That was a mission in itself. Not fully happy with my choice, but the chairs are covered and the table is DONE AND IN USE!

Updates on living room..

In a previous post I said large area rug. Well, it isn't large, but it is cute!! We also got a super old trunk for a coffee table. Now I just need the matching love seat. We'll wait until it is 25% off like the couch was.:) Please note Zoey knocked out in her chair.

The yellow flower looks just like the one on our wedding invitations, programs, and website  www.mywedding.com/cayteandjacky

Slightly different..

We have been looking for a couple of bar stools for our kitchen. I had found these at Big Lots for $90 and decided I wasn't going to buy them yet. Yesterday, on my way home from church I decided I was going to go to the store next to Big Lots just to check to see if they had any on sale. Luckily they weren't open yet so I ran over to Big Lots to find the stools I loved on sale for 2 for $45! That's right 2 barstools for a total of $45. Beautiful. Sold.

I'm behind.. why not another?!

So I have had a couple of ideas on how to store my jewelry and make it look good at the same time. Well I found a winner. This was our project last Saturday night. There may be more in the future. Old coke tray and a few hooks and WA LA!!!

Make sure to check out the post on crazy Zoey's escape..

The lost Zoey.. that isn't really lost.

So I thought I would share with you a Zoey experience-- Zoey's potty time turned into quite the adventure the other day. I let her out and got a little side tracked and didn't let her back in right away.. so she decided she would explore. Well, I realized what I did and ran out to check to see if she is in the yard where she usually does her business and nope.. GONE! So I listened to see if she was in the woods.. Not a sound. Called for her.. Nothing. Needless to say, I knocked on a couple neighbors doors (no answers), ran down the road screaming. "ZOEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!" while crying hysterically with collar and leash in hand (hadn't had a shower or tammed my hair since getting up), while the WHOLE time she was happily in our fenced in woods exploring. The story does not end there. She made her way through the maze of a ridiculous number of trees to get to me and as I swooped her up and hugged her, I smelled a big smack in the face stinch of poop. Roger (my boss/ Chattanooga dad) showed up to make sure I would be ok if I found her smashed on the road.. and he had he showed up right when she had come to me. I walk over and told him, "she smells like poop". His response was, "that's because it is all down the side of her". I was still holding her. Perfect.

She did get a bath right away and slept very well all day long. Me, I was late for prayer meeting with the staff, but I did have my dog safe and sound at home. Silly me for being such a worrier.. BUT if it were to happen tomorrow, I would probably react the same.

For those that have not seen our woods... here ya go.

Also, can we just talk about how weird Zoey really is?? I think sometimes she thinks she is a cat. Maybe because her best friend is Monelle (Tripp and Laura's cat), who likes Zoey's dog food.
